5 Ways to Thrive During Social Isolation

Like many of us, my life has shifted drastically within a span of 30 days due to the unexpected emergence of the coronavirus. This virus has truly many of us on a whirl wind of emotions, searching for answers that just are coming fast enough. Before sharing 5 things that I have learned during this period of social isolation, I want to first provide context of my post that sparked others in wanting my 5 learnings in blog form. So here we go……

11 speaking engagements canceled in 2 months. Initially I WRESTLED WITH GOD. Can I be transparent? I left my nursing job almost a year ago to pursue ministry and business. For the first 7 months I was confused as ever with my plan immediately thrown out the window. I was lost, angry, and confused. I felt less than and doubted every idea and thought that came to mind.

Come 2020, my mindset shifted. God told me that I was ready to go! And boy was I going. I limited my focus. Began to say “no”to things that didn’t line up with my purpose. Doors began to flood open. Calendar picking up. Lives changed in Christ and for the first time in my many years of speaking, I had the busiest schedule ever in March and April alone, 13 to be exact. My sacrifice of leaving my full-time job truly started to make sense.

Then the coronavirus hit. My life shifted like many people throughout the world. My first reaction was not to pray, but to ask the simple question of “Why?” I spent weeks talking to God and my mindset has shifted drastically. Something even greater has been birthed in my stillness and slowing. I was so consumed with going, going, going and have recently realized that I was losing my love for just “being.” I’m spiritually enlightened beyond words.

I am here to encourage and lift up today. Life has shifted for ALL of us. But how will you re-purpose your mindset? How will you speak to God differently? Who can you pray for? I’ve learned 5 valuable things that you can do to add new meaning to your season of stillness. I hope and pray that these 5 tools can help you progress through such times as this. Keep RISING!

(Before reading, do you believe and have faith that God can do a new thing in your life? Things may be uncomfortable for us but I have faith and believe that God is walking and talking with us. There are many things we can’t control but one thing we can control is the way in which we view our predicaments and the way in which we show up daily. Lets shift our minds starting today! )
